Huntingdale Primary School
Mattel Dream Gap x IGA Program
In Term 4, we delivered another single module program focused on building leadership in younger primary girls in collaboration with Mattel. We invited two female role models who have years of experience in leadership—one from the gaming industry and one from business—to come and inspire these girls. The girls enjoyed presentation sessions with role models, and came out more motivated to become leaders at the most crucial age: 8~10 years old.

Melissa Halstead - IT Technician Lead
“Ada Lovelace inspires me because she was one of the first people to see the potential of computers — way before they even existed like they do today. Her curiosity and courage to challenge expectations really resonate with me. I remember the first time I saw a computer — I was instantly hooked, wanting to know how it worked.
But as I started my journey into tech, I quickly realized that being a girl in this field came with its own set of challenges. People didn’t always expect me to be good at it. That made me even more determined.”

Janene Hansford - Senior Director
“At different time in my life I've had many individuals inspire and influence me. In particular two difference bosses at different stages in my careers who were always there for me, challenged me but also saw potential that sometimes I didn't. I'm also inspired by my young daughter who is not 17 for overcoming adversity and always striving to be better.”
