“As a woman of color interested in aerospace engineering, I’m deeply inspired by Mary Jackson, NASA’s first Black female engineer and one of the women portrayed in the film Hidden Figures. Her determination to pursue her engineering degree despite racial and gender barriers showed incredible courage and resilience.

Mary Jackson proved that intelligence and persistence can overcome any obstacle, and her commitment to helping other women and minorities advance in STEM inspires me to do the same.
