Gleneagles Secondary College

In Term 4, we brought our Inspiring Girls Australia program to Gleneagles Secondary College. For 5 weeks, we delivered modules to plant confidence and brought female role models from various industries to help boost broaden their perspectives. The girls enjoyed speed networking sessions with role models, and came out with confidence and a new outlook for their future careers.

November - December 2025

Meet some of our inspiring role models from the day!

  • Merina Amon - Aerospace Engineering

“As a woman of color interested in aerospace engineering, I’m deeply inspired by Mary Jackson, NASA’s first Black female engineer and one of the women portrayed in the film Hidden Figures. Her determination to pursue her engineering degree despite racial and gender barriers showed incredible courage and resilience.

Mary Jackson proved that intelligence and persistence can overcome any obstacle, and her commitment to helping other women and minorities advance in STEM inspires me to do the same. She reminds me that representation matters that by following my passion for engineering, I can also open doors for others who look like me.”

  • Melitta Hardenberg - Talent & Leadership

"My inspiration in life is my parents. Dad taught me the value of being a lifelong learner -- you're never too old to grow -- which is probably what led me to a career in leadership and development. Mum taught me to always see the best in others and lead with generosity and kindness.”

  • Yong-Li Zhou - Director
